Driving directions from Las Américas International José Francisco Peña Gómez Airport: Turn right onto Las Américas International Hwy and continue east past Boca Chica. Follow signs for the hotel onto Juan Dolio Hwy. The hotel is on the right. Getting there: The best way is by beige-colored tourist taxis which charge fares of more than $36. Rental cars and limousines are more than $36. Fees subject to change without notice. Rental cars are available online. Getting around: To leave this large, beachfront hotel, guests can opt for bicycles (complimentary), motorcycles ($26–$35 a day rental), taxi, or rental car. Taxi fare is $26–$35 to the resort town of Boca Chica and $16–$25 to San Pedro de Macoris. Local buses stop in front of the hotel and are much cheaper, with fares less than $5 to nearby towns but travel is much slower. Fees subject to change without notice.

El Fogón - Located above Ambar restaurant, this intimate, air-conditioned restaurant combines brocade linens, a wood floor, and copper-colored exposed ductwork for a rustic/elegant ambience. Part of the All-Inclusive Plan, the dinner-only Dominican menu includes choices such as Fish in Coconut Sauce. Reservations required. Men are requested to wear long pants and sleeve shirts. Caribbean Grill - Not part of the All-Inclusive Plan, this special, all-you-can-eat menu at air-conditioned El Fogón restaurant includes selections such as Jamaican jerk chicken and Sea Bass Bedded on Orange/Tomato Purée. Reservations required. Men are requested to wear long pants and sleeve shirts. Snack Bar - This casual beachfront spot features a light buffet and fast foods such as pizza and burgers during the afternoon and reopens at night for fast foods until 6 AM. Sports Bar - Open 24 hours for drinks, this rustic place offers televised sports and pool tables around the clock. The resort includes three pool bars and a garden bar. Room service is available 24 hours a day but is not part of the All-Inclusive Plan.

Ambar - This open-air restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets, with theme selections presented in the evenings along with international choices such as roast beef and made-to-order pasta. El Charro - Featuring choices such as Prawns in Tequila Sauce, Sirloin Steak with Green-Pepper sauce, and enchiladas, this Mexican restaurant offers an à la carte menu for dinner. What to expect: Close enough to Santo Domingo for shopping excursions, the resort has an urban feel, exemplified by the casino and disco, both open until 4 AM. The casino glitters under a partly mirrored ceiling and contains 56 slot machines, eight blackjack tables, two Caribbean poker tables, four roulette wheels, a craps table, a poker table, and its own disco. The resort's large main disco offers a raised dance floor and banquette seating. Amenity highlights: Tamed by a long, artificial reef, the Caribbean gently laps the beach, creating ideal conditions for adult paddlers and children. Three fair-size pools, two along the beach and a third "quiet pool" near the casino, supply alternatives to the sea. Insider tip: Nearly concealed by gardens and undiscovered by most guests, two isolated, cool-water, 10-person spas bordered by rocks and palm trees and paired with sundecks offer tranquil hideaways for relaxed soaking and sunning.
